Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has announced that Watch Dogs will soon release for PS4 and Xbox One along with the PS3Xbox 360, and PC versions of the title. According to a report by Game Informer from Feb. 10, the PS4 and Xbox One version of Watch Dogs will be released during the first quarter of 2014, though the Wii U version of Watch Dogs has been delayed to a later date.

Watch Dogs was previously scheduled to release in Nov. 2013 for PS3, Xbox 360PS4Xbox OneWii U, and PC. However, the title was delayed in order to receive extra development time and polish, though some speculate Ubisoft delayed Watch Dogs in order to avoid being overshadowed by Grand Theft Auto 5.

“Our ambition from the start with Watch Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming,” the company explained at the time. “From the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality.

“As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune every detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience.”

Thief runs at 1080p on PS4, 900p on Xbox One

The bad news for the Xbox One’s graphical capabilities just keeps on coming this week. Just one day after Konami announced that Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes will run at 1080p on the PS4 and 720p on the Xbox One, Square Enix has confirmed to Eurogamer that the upcoming reboot of Thiefruns at a native resolution of 1080p on the PS4 and 900p on the Xbox One. Both versions reportedly run at 30fps.

The difference mirrors similarly sized cross-platform resolution gaps in the PS4 and Xbox One versions of games like Battlefield 4 and Assassin’s Creed 4. But game director Nicolas Cantin told Eurogamer that he thinks the slight variation “doesn’t make much of a difference.”

“You really need good eyes to see the difference,” Cantin told the site, adding that the Xbox One game “is as good as the PS4 version.” He went on to say that the resolution difference was interesting more as an engineering issue than a gameplay issue, and he noted that both the PS4 and Xbox One are vast improvements over the editions on older systems.

Whether or not Thief looks noticeably worse in practice on the Xbox One, the steady stream of Xbox One games that look worse on paper than their PS4 counterparts is not what Microsoft needs in order to set its system apart from the competition.

The 17-minute video shows Garrett, the main character, trying to get back to his clocktower hideout.

“After a heist gone wrong, Garrett is trying to make his way back to his hideout in the clocktower. Along the way, he happens upon a jewelry store. Garrett being who he is, you can imagine what happens next,” a description for the game reads on YouTube.

The game, being developed by Eidos Montreal, will be released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and WindowsPC on Feb. 25 in the U.S., and it will be released on Feb. 28 worldwide.

Is Red Dead Redemption 2 Coming for PS4 ?

There has been a lot of talk about GTA V coming to the PS4 and the Xbox One, and while Rockstar has not given us a date as to when it will be made available on next-gen consoles.

There is a leak on the LinkedIn profile belonging to a senior engineer which revealed the company is working on another title’s sequel. Just which one could he be referring to?

We already know that a rumor was recently leaked suggesting a Read Dead Redemption sequel, which could be released as early as summer 2014, but we feel as though that might be pushing it a bit, especially when RockStar has yet to announce it and when they do it could be a year from then, much like it was for GTA V.

Having said that,  Red Dead Redemption 2 will be a PS4 and Xbox One release and so Rockstar might have been working on it for a while.

The possibility of it being GTA 6 is too soon. Players are pointing to Red Dead Redemption 2 which seemed likely. RDR is a very successful title by Rockstar, rivalling that of the GTA series. The cowboy western open world play has only one title since its debut and a sequel for it is logical.

If the leak were to be true, we can see Red Dead Redemption 2 coming as early as Autumn 2014.

Having said all that, Red Dead Redemption 2 will definitely be made for the next-gen consoles. With GTA 5 already looking great, how will it be for  Red Dead Redemption 2?

If you had the choice, which of the two would you rather, Red Dead Redemption 2 or GTA V on the PS4 and Xbox One?
