The New Console Generation Is On The Horizon

Next month, a new generation of video game consoles will be plugging itself into our televisions. Microsoft’s Xbox One (or so lovingly referred to as the XBone) and Sony’s Playstation 4 are obviously in a tangle of competition with each other, both fighting for the consumer’s interest. Both have their positives and negatives as systems, as well as their library of games only available for that console. To hopefully clear some things up for those of you who are interested in picking one of these consoles up, but aren’t sure which is for you, I’m going to provide a list of popular features for both the XB1 and PS4.

Let’s start with the Xbox One:

  • A new Dashboard designed to enhance entertainment options (Netflix, Fantasy Football, etc.)
  • No backwards compatibility to Xbox 360
  • It will cost $499.99 at launch
